Ladakh: The Land of the Mystic Lamas

Ladakh is one of my favourite place, I have been to Ladakh more than half a dozen times. Ladakh offers me all the vitamins required to rejuvenate myself. It not just has unmatched natural Himalayan beauty, but monasteries, lakes as well are breath-taking (in literal sense). Even if you point your camera in any direction without even looking at it, it might turn out to be a beautiful landscape photo.

Srinagar to Manali road trip via Kargil and Leh offers most scenic landscapes, but then this becomes a hectic trip to manage in ten to twelve days and have to rush past these places. So, if time permits try to spend more time at these locations or plan separately if that is an option. Zanskar valley is another remote region which requires a separate plan, but worth visiting.

Ladakh trip is normally considered as an adventure trip due to unpredictable and harsh weather conditions, high altitude sickness, barren and remote Himalayan landscape etc. So, while planning a trip to Ladakh requires physical as well as mental readiness.
